1st year of college tips

This is the third time I am writing this post ...., the first time it just sat there waiting to be published and then I decided to rewrite it again then I accidentally deleted it (sad face).... think from now on I'll only be using paper ...till I recover.

Anyway it's January and the school year just started (well here in South Africa at least) . I thought I would give some of you (those who are starting out at college) a few coping tips.

Things that were a big deal in high school won't be as much a big deal anymore

The little things that bothered you or were mattered the most to you might change as you grow older and mature.

An opportunity to start over

Starting over in the sense of working towards being the person you would like to be .

Find out what you are most passionate about

This is great for young people who are still finding themselves. Trying out new things and joining different clubs can be a good way to find out what you enjoy the most in life and whatever it is might end up being what you want to do for the rest of your life.

Take time while choosing your majors

Don't feel pressured into choosing you don't like just because it's what is expected of you.
This is a decision that you should make on your own and it's best to imagine or think of the person you would like to be while making the decision.

It may take some time to figure out but it's worth the time.

Get to know different people

This goes hand in hand with no.3 .it's important to get to know different people from all walks of life, that way you can learn a lot from people.
People you never knew before will become like family .Being friendly to everyone will help you in future because you never know whose help you will you will need at the end of the day.
One thing I realised is that " there's a friend for everything" .There will be a friend you tell everything to,  one you study with or one you party with..... you get my point. ..so its good to get to know different people.

Let me know how your first year was like or what you looking forward to in the comments below.
