How to get the Job/internship you want

Hey Everyone

I feel like I haven't posted in a while,  apart from being busy with life I have been experiencing the worst kind writers block. Anyway I am back and I thought I would share with you my tips on getting the internship/job you want.

1. confidence is key
Apart from being prepared,  confidence is always important when you go for interviews.
The way you express or represent yourself can be a major factor in getting the job you want

2. Be prepared / Do your research
Before you to for an interview you need to be more prepared than to  just  answer questions about yourself. You should do some research on the company that's interviewing you , find out what they specialize in,  their values etc.
Tip: Go back to the job post/job requirements and duties and make sure you answer your questions with relation to that

3. Update your resume and cover page
I know it can be time consuming and a bit tiring to update your cover letter every time you apply for a job , which is why most people just send out the same one to most jobs they apply . You can make your application stand out by mentioning some of the skills that are mentioned in the job post.

4. Dress the part
After you have mastered the confidence and you are more than prepared make sure you can dress accordingly.  My best advice is to dress in a representable way and also make sure you are are comfortable,  there more you are comfortable the better you feel .
Tip : If you don't feel comfortable in high heels then wear s shorter heel or flats.

5. Let them know how they can benefit from hiring you
Let your future employer know how they can benefit from hiring you. In most situations people usually get caught up in talking about how getting the job will improve their own lives but your future employer would also want to know how you are going to make things better for them/the company.
Tip : Don't just mention your skills also mention how you can use them to benefit the company

6.  Stand out
You would be surprised by how  many interviews I have been to where all the candidates have the same degree and are from the same I went to. Situations like that are unavoidable but what you can do is to stand out to convince the interviewer that you are the right person for the job.
You should need to show them your future employer that this is the job for you and you plan on making a career in this field.   The most obvious way you can do this is not just saying it but also looking at your life choices they should be able to see it.  Ie your life choices,  what you studied ,even at times hobbies should be leading up to a career like this.

Ie. someone who wants to be a writer can study literature in college,  write for fun in their spare times , start a blog where they show case their writing  etc.  , what this person does in their spare time times adds/contributes to the career they want to pursue.

Hope you enjoyed this post.
